Who We Are

Located in Historic Downtown Farmville, only an hour from Richmond, Charlottesville, and Lynchburg in the Heart of Virginia. Prince Edward Art and Antiques opened in 2006 after rejuvenating an 1890's building that had housed a locally renowned hardware store.

Prince Edward Art and Antiques offers a collection of upscale antiques with a number of primitive as well as modern pieces in combinations that showcase each genre in up-to-date and fresh ways. We also have paintings, art prints, local folk art, lithographs, and local crafts that include North Carolina face jugs, South Carolina sweet-grass baskets, and Key West shell pieces. Spouses Corner is a comfortable couch with magazines for those tired from a long day of shopping in the area and need to put their feet up."

Our Owner

Caroline Freeman, owner and president of Prince Edward Art and Antiques, has enjoyed antiques since childhood. Her mother has been collecting and selling them for sixty years. She says, "our antiques have good bones and are great investments. I want to live in a house where children, grandchildren, and puppy dogs can have a liveable home that also pleases the senses. Homes are meant to be lived in with those timeless pieces that have been appreciated over the years."

Caroline has also been active in the arts community throughout her life. Volunteering to teach elementary school age children's art programs and organizing art shows led to positions on the Columbia South Carolina Museum Art Board, and the South Carolina Comission for the Arts Foundation Board.
